Campbell Bain

[Campbell is sitting, propped up in his bed at Oh Aces. He hasn't got a shirt on, but he's got bandages wrapped around his upper torso, so it doesn't really matter. Of course, without any sort of baggy top on, you can see just how ridiculously skinny he is, but he's not bothered.]

Hanna? I thought it'd be best t' go the direct approach wi' these birds, so I just went and asked them what they were planning, basically. I mean, it was part of a plan, I made sure I was near a building I could get into, but they still scored me across the back. It wasnae too bad, I got the doctors t' fix my gross parasite. That was the worst part, really, no the gouges in my back, cos they had t' extract the parasites somehow and Christ did it hurt.

It's better now, though, it's just hard t' not scratch at my chest, really. Feels weird... No as weird as before, I suppose.

Anyway, I went up to a harpy and asked her what they were planning. I dunno if she was really expecting that sort of thing to happen, but she spoke t' me, anyway. Said a riddle. Hang on, I've got it written down.

[He wriggles a bit to get a piece of paper out of his jeans pocket, wincing a bit when he moves.]

Right, here it is.
Properly mystical, isn't it? Anyway, I was gonna ask something else only then two more of them came swooping down at me fae the sides and I had t' scarper. They nearly got me, even, but they didn't. Clearly.

Anyway, maybe you or someone else can work that out, cos I dunno what she was going on about.

Oh, and Curt's gone. Out of the City, I think, or he's just gone off somewhere and left a message for the hell of it. But I'm sure he'll be back. I just joined his band, after all.
